Importance Of Lessons On Depth Of Field And Photography Techniques

Depth of field allows me to adjust what is in focus. This gives me the ability to alter what is important and seen clearly in the photo. Other techniques such as symmetry, negative space, and leading lines also help improve my photos. Without these techniques my pictures would come out unpleasant, uncanny, or both.

Example: This is a branch from a cherry blossom. You can see other branches in the background, but the branch and flowers closest are in focus the most. The other branches are blurred and partially out of focus. This gives the viewer a shallow depth of field.
